Todd Pacific Shipyards Fact Sheet
Todd Pacific Shipyards is the largest private shipyard in the Pacific Northwest.
Since 1916, Todd Pacific Shipyards has proudly built and repaired ships on the
Seattle waterfront and provided thousands of jobs to generations of skilled
craftspeople throughout the Puget Sound area.
Today, Todd's customers include the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, other government
fleets, the Washington State Ferries and commercial companies from the cruise, container,
tank, tug and barge, and fishing industries. Todd holds several long-term repair
contracts with the Navy and Coast Guard. It is the largest private sector provider of
maintenance, repair and overhaul to the U.S. Navy for ships homeported or visiting
Puget Sound.
Under long-term Navy repair contracts, Todd performs a large portion of the non-nuclear
repairs on Puget Sound homeported Nimitz class aircraft carriers. The company
also repairs submarines, destroyers and frigates.
Todd handles all dry dockings and associated repairs of the U.S. Coast Guard's
two Polar Class icebreakers as well as the Cutter Healy, the nation's largest and
most technologically advanced ice-capable research ship. Other government customers
include the U.S. Army, Maritime Administration (MARAD), Military Sealift Command
(MSC) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Todd has been recognized for its award-winning environmental improvements aimed at
genuine stewardship for the healthy marine environment of Puget Sound. It is also
a strong supporter of the community. Todd Pacific Shipyards and its skilled workforce
have long supported a wide range of environmental, community and charitable activities
throughout Puget Sound region.
Todd currently employs more than 750 people; 11 labor unions are represented at
