SEATTLE, WASHINGTON...March 13, 2006...
Todd Shipyards Corporation (NYSE:TOD) announced today that the Alaska Marine Highway
System ("AMHS") has awarded to its wholly owned subsidiary, Todd Pacific Shipyards
Corporation ("Todd Pacific"), a $5,471,185 contract for the overhaul of the
passenger and auto ferry MV Taku ("Taku"). The Taku is expected to arrive at Todd's
Seattle shipyard on January 5, 2007 with all major work to be completed
by June 8th, 2007. The overhaul includes the removal and replacement of
shafts, hubs, blades and all ancillary equipment related to the propulsion system,
including the replacement of most of the pneumatic control system with an
electronic, digital control propulsion system.
Todd Pacific performs a substantial amount of repair and maintenance work on
commercial and federal government vessels engaged in various seagoing trade activities
in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to the Alaska Marine Highway System, its
customers include the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, NOAA, the Washington State
Ferry system and various other commercial and governmental customers. Todd Shipyards Corporation
has operated a shipyard in Seattle since 1916.
