King County Wastewater Treatment Division
Industrial Waste Program Gold Award
The King County Industrial Waste Program presented Todd with the Gold Award. The Gold
Award recognizes our company's perfect compliance with the terms and conditions of our
industrial wastewater discharge permit for 2007. King County Industrial Waste understands the
challenges associated with maintaining compliance and appreciates our ongoing efforts
Association of Washington Business – Continuous Improvement Award
Todd Pacific Shipyards was recognized as a great example of environmental excellence. We
successfully completed a significant sediment cleanup project, constructed an aquatic habitat,
implemented aggressive pollution prevention measures, switched to the use of less toxic paints
and minimized paint waste, and continued to show strong environmental outreach and leadership
within the shipbuilding industry.
2008 William M. Benkert Marine Environmental Protection Award
Todd Pacific Shipyards has systematically evaluated and implemented environmental
improvements aimed at genuine stewardship for the healthy marine environment of Puget Sound.
We have implemented both policy and workplace changes as well as significant physical
upgrades at the facility. These changes have been focused on waste minimization, use of
environmentally appropriate materials, clean work practices, dry dock washwater and sandblast
grit management, and stormwater pollution prevention.
Association of General Contractors 2006 Safety & Construction Excellence Award
Todd, General Construction, our dredging contractor and Floyd/Snider, our consultant, were
presented with three environmental awards at the Association of General Contractors 2006
Safety & Construction Excellence Awards. We were recognized for Environmental Excellence,
Heavy Industry, and the Overall Grand Award for the sediment clean-up and establishment of
habitat migration along our shoreline. We accomplished our goals on getting the two year
project done on time, with only minor disruption of our day to day repair activities, and having
the EPA accept the clean-up. We now have a clean bill of health of the sediments that surround
our facility. And it is vital that we follow all of our Best Management Practices and source
control measures to sustain the efforts taken to make the improvements. We have a responsibility
to conduct our work tasks with the environment in mind.
Small Business Achievment Award

Todd was presented with a Small Business Achievement Award by the Department of Homeland Security on 23 April, 2006.
Nominated by the Coast Guard, Todd's second largest federal government customer, the award praised Todd for exceptional
service in ship repair during 2006.
